Rib bit Rib bit Rib
Rib bit Rib bit Rib bit, I have crocked like a frog. Well in the previous posting I showed you a cable wrist warmer that I was making. Well I finished one of them and I decide after looking at it, I needed to redo it. I like the pattern and the cable but the problems I found had to do with my little snosausage and my wrists are just a tad bit to thick for the warmers. So as usually I am going to rework the warmers again but to fit me.
These are my variation on the Cloud 9 Glove
First I am going to do this instead of casting on 39 (12 /15/12). I am going to cast on 35 or more like an even number because I want to do a rib at the beginning but if not more like this (10/15/10). I am only going to work the pattern for the first full set of cable (c1 & c2). Then I am going to do the side thumb opening which I really like. This is the area that I am going to make up the 4 sts that I changed at the cast on by doing an increase 4x (1 Increase per row). Also I am probably going to cut the length of the thumb opening because it was a tad bit to big for my short thumbs. Once I start back to knitting in the round I am going do the decrease 3x and then increase 4x. So as to give it a slight tapered wrist. My upper wrist is a tad bit to fat for the previous way so I will keep working with it. I hope that it works like I am hoping since I really like the pattern. The other thing is that I am going to work a rib at the beginning and at the end of it. I did not like how things were rolling since there was not a true edge. I will most likely do that by working a 2x2 rib. K2, P2 for atleast 2 rows if not 3 or 4. So here is what I think it might be.
Cast On (working in the round)
Row 1 – Rib 2x2
Row 2 – Rib 2x2
Row 3 – Rib 2x2 Possibly depending on what it looks like.
Row 4 – K10, P3, K9, P3, K10
Row 5 – K10, P3, K9, P3, K10
Row 6 – Work C1 over K9 sts.
Row 7 – Repeat Row 4
Row 8 – Repeat Row 4
Row 9 – Repeat Row 4
Row 10 – Knit the first 7 sts (Starting to knit back and forth)
Work pattern back and forth for at least 6 rows no more then 12 rows joining back in the round. (Increase 1 st per row over these rows no more then 4 stitches increase every 4th row)
Continuing working in pattern decrease 1 stitch per row for 3 decreases every 4th row to taper wrist area. Then Increase like above so the arm portion is a tad bit wider then prior pattern. At least 12/15/12 if not 13/15/13 which would be the best for the ending rows of the rib.
Pattern is working in this matter
C1
Repeat None Cable Row
Repeat None Cable Row
Repeat None Cable Row
C2
Repeat None Cable Row

Continue in this matter through out the warmer.
Stay tuned for more progress on this wrist warmer.
